Clemson lost to Georgia on Sunday, with both teams coming out with a win and both going on to lose to the Commodores.
Clemson, led by DeShawn Shead’s game-winning 3-pointer with 2:34 left, started slow but then put together a 22-3 run in the second half.
The Tigers built a 31-9 lead by the end of the first half and scored 16 straight points before halftime to go ahead 53-49.
Garrett Gilbert led the way for the Bulldogs (1-2, 0-1 Atlantic Coast Conference), which was led by their senior point guard, Garrett Gilbert, who scored 20 points and added nine rebounds.
Georgia (2-1, 1-1) was led in scoring by junior guard Justin Jackson, who had 16 points and eight assists.
Junior guard Tyler Lydon led Georgia in scoring with 10 points.
Senior guard Brandon Johnson added 11 points for Georgia.
Johnson and senior guard Jordan Loyd each had 11 points.
